Crossfit as it should be, ruff but clean, in a side room to an auto shop, best of all great company and instructors! Looking forward to some good old DOMS

With CrossFit becoming an international phenomenon and boxes popping up everywhere, it is good to know that gyms like CrossFit GVA are keeping to the real heart of what CrossFit is: community, hard work, and true fitness. My husband and I dropped in about a month ago while visiting friends in Geneva. I had emailed Jon, the owner, prior to the drop in and he was friendly and encouraging. When we got there, we took time warming up, doing kettlebell skill work (and I learned a new skill!), and then got to the MetCon. It was well organized, timed efficiently and Jon and the other athletes were encouraging and great to workout with. While this is a new box, it is clear that Jon is knowledgeable and a good coach. My only complaint was the tile floor. It was a little hard on the knees during warm-up, but there was a mat I could have used, so it's more my fault for not speaking up. I recommend folks who are curious about crossfit stop in and try it out at this box. I've dropped in at a lot of places and this was one of the friendliest, plus I got my butt kicked by the workout.
