Picked up from the airport by an aggressive driver with bad body odor. Once at the checkout counter, the man was nice but rushed through all the motions, didn’t explain anything, spoke very fast and when I asked questions he was annoyed and repeated in the same manor as before but with attitude. He then handed me a clipboard and said to fill it out and bring it back...which I did but told him I wasn’t going to sign it off in good order as it wasn’t - the inside smelled and had stains all over the ceilings and when I told him this he proceeded to tell me in so little words “you get what you pay for”. When we returned the car the same attendant was there - he was not only rushed with me again but the people before and after me. The van pulled up, the driver got out of the shuttle to take us back to the airport and he just went inside, leaving us all to look at each other for about 5min wondering where he went and what we were to do...? Finally another driver came But needless to say you get what you pay for and we will NEVER use this company again.

THINK TWICE...DO NOT BOOK HERE. Price may be cheap on web, but you will pay 3X as much in the end. Arrived for a funeral in Fort Myers & no cars available for my $50.00 reservation (myself & many, many, others in the line in front of me). The night representative who served me was too busy watching a football game & didn't offer or explain any toll pass choices to me. I was given a 24? seat "dirty" passenger van and was told come back tomorrow "maybe" they would have a car. What choices did I have at that moment to make it to my best friends funeral who had been murdered ? Absolutely, NONE! In the end, I drove a vehicle/Van that I could not see anything on the road because the mirrors were so dirty. My flight was overbooked on Sunday and I had to stay an extra night in Tampa. I called in the am & explained what happened to the representative. To add insult to injury. He tried to charge me $150.00 for Monday stating " He had to make accommodations for other renters when I did not return it on time." What BS, there were 5 other vans in their parking lot when I returned it. I got charged $150.00 extra for a $50.00 3 day reservation, making my total charges $200.00 (bc they have your credit card and they will charge it) for a gigantic van " I DID NOT WANT" Extra Gas Charges, and Attitudes that were just "not OK & down right rude". Tried to switch the van out in Fort Myers the next morning & came to find out Ace is an individually owned business chain. What would have happened if it broke down? Think twice folks, go with a national chain where the people who answer you 800 number are not just an "answering service" and could really help you if you needed it. 1 Star is generous, only gave it so this would post!

Tl;Dr - This is not at/in the airport and requires a shuttle...definitely worth it to book elsewhere. If you're not flying in and need a rental then sure, book here if it's cheapest.
All of the reviews are accurate. Do not book here if you're flying into Tampa Airport, as it's not at the airport and didn't seem to save much money over the real rental agencies right outside the terminals. The shuttle took roughly 45 minutes to show up (got to watch every other shuttle make multiple trips) and the staff that we had was not a friendly person. I don't think either of us were happy to be there, but he seemed to show it more.
The car was a car...it was nice and worked well. There were some scratches around the car when I picked it up, but I was able to indicate it before taking it out of the lot. No, staff won't walk out to the car with you to confirm anything, so you'll have to do the check yourself and head back inside to give the slip.
Drop off: There is a $12 fee for returning the car out of hours, but the return garage is/was actually more convenient, so I'm not too disappointed about this part. The garage is closer to the airport and no one had to wait more than a few minutes for the shuttle, but the garage is run by A-1, not ACE, so I don't really give them the credit for it.

One of the only places in Tampa that will rent with a debit card. Great service, friendly staff.
Changed to 2 stars because the guy I dealt with on the return (Mario, if I remember correctly) was a dick. Spent over $2700 with them and then got treated poorly in the end.
The other two guys that were there were great though.

I'm not sure why everyone's giving this place a bad review. I was in a car accident and a time crunch couldn't find place that will rent a vehicle to me with a debit card only. Luckily I found this place and saved my day. I was in and out of there fast and back to work ASAP. They let you rent with a debit card which is very convenient if you don't have a credit card. The guy that checked me out was very nice and helpful. I will be definitely renting from this place in the future
