Very beautiful but don't ever host a Rocky event ever again. The entire point of going to Rocky live is 50% props 50% time warp. There was absolutely no room for such thing. We thought, oh we'll just move over into the isle as did others. We were directed to sit back down. Not cool, I won't be returning point blank. I'd rather view Rocky horror anywhere else and no one is ever that high in price. Too much hype for my worst Rocky experience.

This is a true Tampa Treasure, a real silent movie theater that still features an organ player. From the floor tiles to the statuesque water fountains and ornate ceilings, the theater is beautiful. This is also the theater to find many independent, foreign, and classic films that the chains will not show. Make sure to see this place when visiting downtown Tampa. If your local, please support this great treasure.

Beautiful venue!!! However, I disagree with the allowing of people to save an entire row! First come, first serve should mean get your seat & start in it! Not fair to people with children trying to show them a true theater experience. If that was different, I'd rate 5 stars!

I love this place! The historic architecture and the interior details have been carefully restored. I guess the seats could be more comfortable, but I have also paid more for significantly less. People often get into the spirit of the movie and dress as their favorite character, which I just love. As with many historic buildings, there may be some issues of access. They have accommodated me, which I appreciate. This theater is worth the experience!!

The Tampa Theatre is an architectural time capsule from when movie theatres transported you, along with the movie, to exotic locales. The City of Tampa bought the theatre for $1 in the 1970's, and has lovingly maintained, restored, and eclectically programmed the 1926 theatre with nearly 600 events per year, appealing to young and old alike. Bringing in new audiences breathes life into the Grande Dame on Franklin Street, in downtown Tampa, and ensuring its relevance for another 90 years!
